Default Gaula River with a released 45-pounder

This 20.5 kilos (45 lb) salmon was caught and released at the Gaulfoss during the first fishing week of June this year. The angler is Axel Wimmer and the length was 124 cm. The fish was caught on fly.

It is important to tell the world that Gaula River has big salmon and that many of them are released safely back into the river. This is probably the best way to maintain the genes and will help to bring more big fish in the future!

Best wishes & regards,
