Summary
A total of 35 kilometres double and single bank fishing; 8 rods fishing zones 1 -3 (lower, middle and upper middle beats) on a rota basis throughout the day (and night), allowing a good variations beats with guaranteed limited number of rods. Week arrangement with good standard lodging in single rooms at Porsanger village centre (PIAS). Full board arrangement. Salmon fishing season from 1 June till 31 August.

The fishing
Lakselv River is particularly well suited for fly-fishing, offering long stretches of excellent fly-fishing water with numerous pools , glides and rapids in the broad valley before meeting the Porsanger fjord. The best part for salmon fishing is the approx. 25 first kilometres (15 miles) upstream from the fjord.
Lakselv Fishing offers fishing on the first three zones from the sea, allowing the opportunity to fish fresh arriving fish. Based on the rota system and the well planned administration of the river there should not be more than 10 rods fishing any of the three zones at any given time. There is a combination of single and double bank fishing. Wading is easy in most parts of the river, as most riverbanks are gravel and with good space for any casting techniques. On the upper reaches of the river casting can become more challenging, due to the density of the vegetation.

The accommodation
The PIAS motel is situated in the centre of the Lakselv village and anglers should have access to a car to get to the fishing stretches (arrange hire car at Alta Airport – most international car rentals available). The motel has good sleeping facilities, single or twin/double rooms with shower/toilet. All meals are arranged by a close by restaurant. Breakfast is arranged at the motel; the dinner (main meal of the day) is served at the restaurant at 15.30 when the guest will be provided with their evening food pack to allow each guest to continue evening and night fishing at their own leisure. For group arrangements, the motel will provide breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. There is a lounge with television and wireless internet is available. With regards to the full board arrangement, the food will very much reflect Arctic traditions and recipes. This is certainly a great place to explore the wonders of the Arctic.

Getting There
PIAS motel is located in the district of Porsanger which is in easy reach of Banak Airport (local) or more frequently used: Alta Airport where there are daily flights from different UK and/or EU airports via Oslo Airport and the most convenient flights can be booked on norwegian.no or www.sas.no. Due to the large distances between towns in this part of the Arctic it is recommended to arrange a hire car from Alta Airport. The driving time between Alta and Lakselv village is around 2 hours.
