Spring breakers: Spring trout stocking now under way
Trout are a great fishing opportunity for kids and families. Early season trout stocking is underway in several areas and some stocking schedules have been posted –others are coming soon. Columbia and Willamette spring chinook seasons
The first fish of the season have been caught on both the Columbia and Willamette. Seasonal regulations went into effect March 1 and are posted here.
Minus tides make for great tidepooling
The first morning minus tides of the year start at the end of March and continue into April. More hours of daylight make this prime time for visiting tidepools and watching the life that was just a few hours ago under as much as 10 feet of water. See Marine Zone Viewing.
Turkey hunting clinic for youth, April 6-7 in Tygh Valley
ODFW and Oregon Hunters Association are hosting a turkey hunting clinic for ages 8-17 and under at the White River Wildlife Area on Saturday, April 6, followed by a Hunter Education field day on Sunday, April 7. Sign up now because spaces are limited. More information
Kids can win a guided spring turkey hunt in southern Oregon
C2 Ranch and the Access and Habitat program are giving away 10 guided hunts to youth (ages 17 and under). The hunt is on private property in southern Oregon. Apply by March 31. More information
