Charles Inniss is on a distinguished road
Default river torridge update: friday 10th June

The recent rains only raused the river by a few inches: certainly not enough to encourage the salmon to enter fresh water, although the school peal have started showing in the lower beats. At long last the trout fishing has started to pick up with rods enjoying some good sport with a dry fly. Now is the time of year to be on the river as darkness approaches: so watch England stuff the USA tomorrow evening and then head off to your favourite pool to see if there are any sea trout about. I still think we are in for a typical changeable English summer with a few summer spates along the way. Hope springs eternal. Charles.
