Hello all

Default Sea trout

Hello,

you are right, one of the best rivers for seatrout in Asturias is the Cares, biggest seatrout are found there, but don´t forget the Narcea and Sella rivers.

There are some free pools in every one. All you need is the Asturias license that you can get by Internet:

Good luck.

Hi Jose,

Hello to you from the US. How big do your Seatrout get? Do you use special rigs or rods? I wonder if what you call Seatrout are the same as our Steelhead" Or, are they sea run Brown Trout? I have never visited Spain or any place out side of North or South America. Spain would be at the top of my list if I made a trip overseas.

Thanks Jose for your reply.
When is usually the best time of year to fish for sea trout in Asturias, Spain?
And do you know of anywhere nice to stay around the Cares river?

Thx

Spain does sound rather an interesting destination for salmon and sea trout fishing indeed. But I might have to give France ago next year.

Default Seatrout/Steelhead

Frank

Seatrout are sea run brown trout whereas of course your steelhead are sea run rainbows.

I have been lucky to catch a good few sea trout up top 20lbs but must try for the steelhead some time soon!

Must also try for a seatrout in Spain........that would be different!
