Tweed Prospects
Despite low water fresh fish are being caught below Kelso - one rod from Duncan House has had 4 fish for Mon & Tues on Sprouston. There plenty of fish below Coldstream and some fish are being caught by the ghillies but most of the rods are not let.
The nets at Paxton and in the estuary are catching substantial numbers of sea trout and many salmon. The salmon are in theory being return under a scheme promoted by the Tweed Commissioners (or maybe not!!!).
It is well worth a visit for a day or three while current conditions prevail, the fishing is cheap and extraordinarily good value.
