Default Hofsá river in Iceland under new management for 2011

A new management structure for the River Hofsá will be launched in 2011.

Fishing opportunities will be offered to all those who have previously been river clients and a few new groups will be welcomed.

Anyone interested in reserving a place on the River Hofsá in 2011 is requested to fill in the attached application form.

Closing date for applications is 17 September 2010 and all those received by then will be considered in late September. We shall subsequently contact everyone concerned.

You can find useful information on the following link:

The Strengur Fishing Club has leased the Selá river for many years and we have worked with great success to enhance the spawning stock. As a result the yearly catches have greatly increased and the Selá now offers some of the very best fishing that Iceland can provide.

Openings to fish the river Selá are also very rare but a few remaining slots in this year’s programme for the Selá remain unfilled.

The spots still available for the Hofsá in 2010 are:
August 26 – September 4

The spots still available for the Selá in 2010 are:
August 15 – 19 and September 1 – 4

Enquiries should be sent to or to Strengur, Skipholti 35, 105 Reykjavik, Iceland. Application forms can be found at Selá / Hofsá - Angling Club Strengur - Veiðiklúbburinn Strengur
