What is the name of the river in Iceland, former US President George Bush used to fish? You did tell me once Mr Editor.

The Salmon Atlas
Hi Jon

He's certainly fished the Sela and probably a few more. The Sela is superb but quite remote and you have to be a mountain goat in many places. But below the two waterfalls on the river the sight of all the salmon lined up in shallow water is incredible. I suspect Mr Bush was invited to fish there!

Cheers

I once had the good fortune to fish a little river in the north of Iceland called the Fljotaa and was told that George Bush Senior had slept in the same bed as had Jack Nicklaus. (Who had caught a 25lbs salmon during his visit).

Its a very small river with lots of char and quite difficult walking but a very special place.
