Rain would be nice, but don't think we're going to see much. Seatrout have been moving up stream, not many but some nice fish. Fresh fish between 4 & 8lb have been caught typical for the Taw at this time. Even during low flows seatrout will push on up river, unlike salmon they don't mind having their backs out of the water and will run well at night. The big early pugs will take well if conditions are right and like a big fly, mind you I've had some beauties take the dropper, sizes 10 - 8 singles. As we move towards June we should start to see the cream of the sport, any rain will offer the chance of a salmon but a rise in level can affect decent night fishing. Tides are building so the lower river will be worth a try. Top tip: don't be put off by low water. Tigh lines.
