Hi folks: may I be the first to wish you all a happy and above all a healthy New Year. You can see from the webcam that the river is nearly frozen over: it has been down to -15c for the last two nights: but thankfully the worst is over and it is warming up this week. We have stripped the third hen and all the broodstock have been returned to the river. 22.000 eggs are laid out in their trays: we have had great problems preventing the flows from freezing, but I think we have succeeded. We will do a complete check tomorrow. Charles
