After a slow start to the Norwegian pre-season salmon fishing, everything seems to be gearing up well to the midnight start on 1 June. Only 2 days prior to this, Bodil Lillemark has caught a superb 19.4 kilos (42.7lb) cock salmon on the Bjøra River, a Namsen tributary. Particularly the Bjøra River is well known for its early salmon and together with the main Namsen, famous for large salmon. Anybody interested in keeping up to date with Norway's BIG ones should follow the weekly catch reports from Norwegian rivers on salmonatlas.com
