Been a fly fisher man for 40 years.
2013 was my first season for salmon properly and taught myself to spey cast by watching videos and by being on the river, did ok for my fist season had 20 fish all on a cascade.
Need a new rod as the one I have all season was 3rd or 4th hand at 13ft but it had lost three of the tip at some point, wanting 13'6'' or 14'' rod. But unsure what to go for.
A traditional style rod or a more modern style scandi/skangit style rod, what are the advantages.
My local river is the Ure in Yorkshire, but travel up to Wear and Tyne when I can plus the Tweed
Looking to spend in the region 400 on a rod as the season on local river is a short one in late summer onwards, but the run is improving year on year out.
