Wonderful river to fish for Summer Run Steelhead ... and ..
one of the hardest to wade I've ever set foot. Especially off the West side. Main train tracks run down the west side of the lower river and all that lava rock that was blasted out litters the river bottom.
Not unusual to be in 3' of water and not be able to see the bottom if the "White River" is dumping silt. You soon learn that a wading staff is darned cheap life insurance.
