The debate on catch and release of large sea trout has raised much interest and a wide range of opinion. Thanks to all of you who have taken time to add your comments to the blog. No sign of any rain and as you cansee from the webcam the river is really down to its bones now. There are apparently plenty of salmon queueing up in the estuary and earlier this week some school peal were showing in the lower beats. Guests from The Half Moon have been enjoying some good brown trout fishing. The West Country Rivers Trust are conducting research into sea trout habits and the genetic stock of each river and are asking anglers to take scales of fish caught. Contact me if you would like to take part. I will enlarge on this exciting project in my next blog
