Salmon Fishing in Norway

The Salmon Atlas
Fishing in Norway offers the opportunity to practise what anglers from all over the world have experienced since the early 1800s in pursuit of big salmon, other game fish and some of the world's biggest deep-water cod, halibut and pollock.

Norway — the land of fjords and mountains, trolls and Norse legends, midnight sun and sparkling Northern Lights — combined with one of the most exciting places in the world to cast a salmon fly.

Good luck to all fortunate to be fishing tomorrow as the season kicks off officially. I believe there have been some big fish caught already.

My wife and I are thinking of traveling to a 5-day fly-fishing school on the Verdal River near Trondheim in June. Does anyone know if there are any lodges on the river with fishing rights where we could extend our stay a few (1-3) days and practice our lessons? Most advertisements I have found are for a full week's stay. Also, any advice re: traveling to Norway will also be gratefully accepted.
